Starring Julia Child as the Swedish Chef

Don’t you just love Julia Child? I absolutely adore her (and yes, I know she’s dead). She’s on my teevee all the time, cooking with Jacques or some other chef, and she’s constantly snarfling up the ingredients going into some dish or another. And she does it with that great sing-songy voice that only Julia Child could command (which doesn’t come across in type, I’m sad to say, otherwise I’d give you my rendition of Julia Child). She often waits until the other chef is occupied frying the blintzes or basting the Cornish hens and then she sort of sidles over to the prep dishes and dives in. “I’ll just have a little morsel,” she says, and then she helps herself. I think part of what I love so much about Julia Child is how much she reminds me of the Swedish chef. Remember him? The Swedish chef was on the Muppets and he was constantly throwing together random foods to create some bizarre dish. His defining characteristic, though, was the refrain “bork bork bork!” And every time I see Julia Child, digging into the prep dishes, I half expect her to chortle “bork bork bork!” as she noms on the ingredients.
