Birthday girl

Happy birthday to me! Today I’m 32. I think a lot of people would be sort of panicky about 32, but not me. I got all that anxiety about getting older out of my system years ago. (No, seriously: when I was a kid, I’d cry myself to sleep the night before my birthday, sobbing about the cruel march of time. I was maybe nine years old. Must have been a pretty intense kid.) So today, in honor of my 32nd birthday, I’m doing nothing. I’m not writing, I’m not grading, and I’m not doing anything I don’t want to do. After all, how often does a girl turn 32? (Wait, I think I know this one…).
