Not a loser
April 6, 2009emily 4 Comments »I found out last week that I got a teaching award. I’m one of just a handful of graduate students across the university to get this award, so it’s a real honor. I wouldn’t normally blog about something like this, because I’m not one to sing my own praises. But then I remembered Mrs. Bonser. Mrs. Bonser was my trigonometry teacher in high school. I don’t remember much about trigonometry, but I certainly remember Mrs. Bonser. At one parent-teacher conference night, she told my parents in no uncertain terms that I’d never make anything of myself. So I’d like to dedicate this award to Mrs. Bonser, who couldn’t have been more wrong.

Congratulations! That is very exciting! And I’m a believer in blowing one’s own horn because . . . who else is going to do it for you?

Wow, what a terrible and dumb teacher! Shame on her!
Anyway, congratulations again! Can I have your autograph?
