Bathroom remodel: days 4 and 5
February 25, 2009emily 2 Comments »The bathroom is really chugging along now, and we’re starting to see just how cool it’s going to look once it’s all done. This day 4 photo isn’t the most exciting, but it shows how our builder is going about tiling the shower. Are you ready? He’s tiling over the existing tile. How cool is that? The tile that’s already there gives the wall a nice flat surface, ideal for tiling over. Check it:
The cement board you see above the above the old tiles and surrounding the new window is so that we can tile all the way up to the ceiling. Squee! I’m very excited about that prospect. You can see some of it here, in this day 5 photo:
The floor doesn’t look like much right now (no tile, since he needs to stand on the floor to tile the walls), but eventually you’ll see smaller 2×2 inch square earthy-orange colored tiles covering this:
